White Papers
The following white papers are based upon reviews of recent or classic literature concerning the risk for secretion-related respiratory complications in a variety of diseases or conditions. Each paper includes an overview of the prevalence and etiology of the condition, a discussion of the pathogenesis of structural and functional alterations that may result in impairment of pulmonary defenses and mucociliary clearance mechanisms and an appraisal of the health effects of impaired airway clearance. A summary of indications for Airway Clearance Therapy in each disease or condition is followed by a brief description of airway clearance techniques in current use and their relative suitability for particular patient populations.
